Grab your walking boots and explore what’s on your doorstep
With lockdown still underway, many people are making the most of their daily exercise and exploring what’s on their doorstep.
Getting fresh air is essential for our mental health and provides an uplifting way to blow away the cobwebs, stretch your legs and chat with family or loved ones within your support bubble.
At Lakeside Village, we’re lucky to be located just minutes from the picturesque Lakeside Circular Walk, however with the centre currently closed, our team have been making the most of beauty spots closer to their homes.
Di Rodgers, centre manager here at Lakeside, has been exploring her local area of Brierley during lockdown and says the area at the back of her garden is perfect for winding down and getting some fresh air.
Di said: “I am very lucky to have such lovely countryside on my doorstep and I get to walk my dog in the area every day. It’s mostly farmland but it has walkways all around it and I get treated to some amazing sunsets.”
An hour or two in the fresh air can be a real boost to your mental health, so why not get out and about and explore your local area?
Even though the centre’s closed at present, our much-loved stores still have you covered online for getting outdoors and active, from waterproofs and fleeces at TOG24, through to walking trousers, base layers, walking shoes and more available at Trespass, and lanterns, flasks and clothing at Mountain Warehouse.
