Christmas starts with a bang at Lakeside Village

Christmas is set to start with a bang this year at Lakeside Village as the centre hosts its Seasonal Festivities Event on December 1.

The event will include the official launch of Santa’s Workshop and a special performance from local band Bang Bang Romeo, who have recently toured with Pink.

Di Rodgers, centre manager said: “We are really looking forward to getting Christmas underway at Lakeside Village.

“Our special event on December 1 will be a fantastic family fun day with two festive films being shown, Christmas crafts, special food stalls including mulled wine and chestnuts and a whole host of prizes to be won.”

For this first time, this year, Lakeside Village is presenting an experience to see Father Christmas. Amongst the books, the goods, curiosities and oddities of Santa’s workshop, children will enjoy an adventure that leads them to Santa Claus!

Santa’s Workshop will bring a colourful and highly emotive, story driven, performer led, musical experience. Families are invited to go on an adventure to meet the great gift giver himself.

“This year’s Christmas activities at a Lakeside Village will be lots of fun and our Santa’s Workshop is going to be very popular so advance booking is recommended.

“Our launch day will include special visits, Christmas songs and lots and lots of fun. We’re having a Festive Wish Tree where people can leave a Christmas wish or a memory of a loved one, we’ll be raising funds for Donmentia, our charity of the year, with a fantastic photo experience and festive crafting.

“Our stores will also be getting involved in the festivities with Pro Cook demonstrating how to make mulled wine and pasta.

“At 3pm we’re thrilled to be welcoming Bang Bang Romeo to the centre and we are sure that lots of their fans will want to come and see them perform in their home town,” added Di.

Santa’s Workshop will be open every weekend from November 30 until Friday 20 December and will be open each day then until December 24.

There will be Christmas activities on each weekend in the run up to Christmas and additional late-night shopping will see the centre open until 8pm on December 18, 20 and 23.

The cost for the Santa’s Workshop experience is £5 plus a fifty pence (50p) booking fee and can be booked online via the Lakeside Village website
