Shopper donations help at Doncaster Royal Infirmary

Our shoppers have helped to raise over £1000 which has been used buy much needed equipment for Ward 25 of Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The money raised from a number of activities has been used by the Thorne Rural Lions to help those in need. Now patients on Ward 25 will benefit from a new TV in the patient and family room along with other equipment. Our Centre Manager Cheryl Sadler, said: “We are delighted that this donation of£1497.39 has been put to such good use. The Thorne Lions collect at the centre every year and the donations our shoppers give make a real difference to those in hospital.” Ward 25 of Doncaster Royal Infirmary is a 28 bedded ward for those with acute gastro conditions and care of the elderly. Auriol Henton, from the Thorne Rural Lions said: “Our thanks go to Lakeside Village and all of their customers who helped to raise this fantastic amount of money. All of the donations have meant that we could buy the TV and other general equipment for the ward which will benefit many patients.” Doncaster Royal Infirmary is part of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
