South Yorkshire students learn the ropes of retail!

This week, a group of budding students from the Communication Specialist College Doncaster popped down to learn the ropes of retail. The group of five students visited our management suite to find out first-hand what it takes to work in our sector. During their visit they met our Deputy Centre Manager, Lyndsey Parry, who told the students all about the centre and gave them an insight into what it takes to run a successful centre alongside organising a busy schedule of family events too. In a bid to inspire the students, she also showed them behind the scene action, told them about the history of Lakeside Village, the variety of jobs available and exactly what it involves. As part of Doncaster Deaf Trust, the Communication Specialist College Doncaster was founded to meet the needs of students with communication difficulties, such as hearing impairment, autism and Asperger’s. We had a great day with the students and we hope we managed to inspire them - come visit us again soon!
